LimX Dynamics (逐际动力), a Shenzhen-based maker of bipedal and quadruped robots, has closed a $200 million pre-IPO financing round, financial wire Cailianshe reported this week. Hefei's state-owned Innovation Investment (合肥创新投资) participated in the round — consistent with the municipality's broader strategy of anchoring robotics champions before they reach public markets.
The company says funds will be directed toward actuator manufacturing scale-up and an expanded world-model training program for its locomotion AI stack. LimX is targeting a Hong Kong listing, following a path already taken by Robotphoenix, which raised $86 million on HKEX in May and closed its debut day up nearly 80%.
The round reflects the broader pace of embodied-AI funding in China: the sector recorded more than RMB 30 billion ($4.2 billion) across 210 deals in the first quarter of 2026 alone, per The Paper. LimX's pre-IPO close positions it as one of the better-capitalized independent bipedal-robotics players ahead of what is shaping up as a crowded Hong Kong listing window in the second half of the year.
